Thai OFFICE DEPOT plans to double sales by 2011
In Thailand, Office Depot - the office-supply retail chain controlled by Central Retail Corporation - has announced that it aims to double sales and its number of stores over the next five years. Approximately THB200 million (USD6.05 million) will be spent on opening five stores every year from 2007 to 2011, according to Kosit Lekhanont, assistant vice-president for operations of Office Club (Thai) Co, the operator of the chain. Also, the existing stores will be renovated to get a more modern look consistent with the company's "Millennium Two" concept store, which involves using a different colour for each department. In addition to this, the company will spend another THB30 million (USD908 million) on advertising and promotional activities this year.
